PASSIONATE ABOUT EMPOWERING EDUCATORS
Professional development shouldn't create master teachers.
It should create master learners.

I believe every educator chooses this profession because of an established desire to learn - and that desire doesn't end once they receive their teaching degree.
However, too many outside variables impede an educator's learning throughout their career, and unfortunately we see teacher burnout or fixed mindsets that can begin to develop.

It is my passion to reignite that flame to learn for every educator -
or stoke the fires that continue to burn.

KEYNOTES
Empowering EVERY Educator to be Professionally Driven
-
With everything that is quickly convoluting education today, Jarod brings the audience back to what learning looked like before formal education even existed and what that means for all adult learners. By drawing comparisons to the four elements - Fire, Water, Air, and Earth - Jarod takes the learning process back to what is most essential for these elements to thrive in a school district so that EVERY educator can be re-empowered to be intrinsically motivated autonomous learner and develop their own growth mindset.

What does "Engagement" Mean Exactly?
-
With the word engagement being used in multiple different ways, this presentation looks to cognitively engage the audience in exploration of this word in order to define it more concretely.
The Foundation of Flipped Learning (Based on Research)
-
Jarod's literature review for his Masters program focused on the affordances of Flipped Learning. Through his research and readings, Jarod noticed commonalities in those studies that found significant positive results. His discovered that to properly move from a traditional classroom to a flipped learning environment it comes down to 3 key steps that any educator can apply.

Why Bloom's Matters and How to use it Effectively with Technology
-
Too many educators get caught up in the WOW factor of tech tools, but really, it's all about the Bloom's. Learn how to create lessons and develop units through the lens of Bloom's and/or Webb's DOK.
Jarod is turning the concept of traditional "PD" on its head. With a focus on each learner and what they need, PD has taken on a whole new meaning.
Jarod does an amazing job of engaging all participants in active learning, even those in remote locations in #Zoomland!

I have been involved in education for almost 20 years and feel that the Professionally Driven model is what I have been waiting for when it comes to continuous learning and professional growth.
